Spirits Blending Expert

Defined blending deliverables for spirits brands

The blend is the brand. I help spirits producers develop, document and defend their liquid identity — with defined deliverables, clear scope and no ambiguity about what you're getting.

The blend is where
brands are made or lost.

"Most brands know what they want their spirit to taste like. Far fewer have the systems to get there — and in today's market, that gap is becoming commercially fatal."
Oisín Mulcahy

A decade in the industry, spanning distillation, blending, sensory evaluation and large-scale maturation management. I spent years managing production at a distillery producing nearly 60,000 cases annually, overseeing spirits that went on to win awards at international competitions.

Blending is the discipline I've built my career around — the point where science, craft and commercial judgement converge. I now bring that expertise to brands as an independent consultant, with defined deliverables and a clear methodology.

Every engagement is grounded in The Accord Method, my proprietary flavour framework that turns sensory evaluation from instinct into a communicable, repeatable discipline.

Proprietary Framework

The Accord Method — a flavour classification framework for whiskey underpinning all blending work.

Independent advice.
No agenda.

The cask investment market is full of conflicts of interest. The broker who sold you the cask wants to sell you another. The distillery wants to bottle it at their margin. You deserve an independent technical voice with no commercial stake in the outcome.

I provide honest, structured assessments of what you own, what it's genuinely worth and what your realistic options are — based on technical expertise rather than sales incentives.

Whether you bought directly from a distillery or through a third-party broker, whether you're thinking about bottling, selling or holding — I give you the information to make the right decision.

Single Cask

Cask Assessment Report

€500–800

Sensory evaluation of a sample, technical assessment, independent valuation range and a clear options analysis — bottle, sell, blend or hold.

Multiple Casks

Portfolio Review

€1,200–2,000

Full portfolio assessment with comparative valuation, individual cask recommendations and an overall strategy for realising value.

Next Steps

Bottling Consultation

€400–600

Guidance through the bottling process — minimum volumes, labelling requirements, finding a reputable contract bottler and reviewing the final liquid. No commercial interest in which bottler you use.
